Bal(les)
Juggling and acrobatics in a circus duet. Two circus artists meet in a poetic and finely-tuned piece that braids acrobatics and juggling in a playful and close union. An ingenious and alluring performance abounding with precision, warmth and visual wonders.
Alexandre Koblikov, one half of Cie Zalataï, is one of the world’s foremost jugglers, in fact a world record-holder in juggling. With impressive ease he allows the balls to fly through space, balances them on his head and his feet and weaves them together in flowing movement. His technique is virtuoso, expressing whimsy and elegance.
Charlotte de la Bretèque, the other half of the duo, is an aerial acrobat, performing high above the audience in her painstakingly developed discipline, multicordes. With her ropes, lines and vertical structures she creates floating, powerful yet delicate sequences; strength meets agility.
Together they build a world where acrobatics and juggling comingle. The movements mirror, challenge and complete each other in a performance technically impressive and artistically composed. Bal(les) is a warm, delightful and inviting circus experience that captures audiences of all ages.
