30 teenagers invite you to their party! They dance, they play their favorite music, and sometimes they sing along. They talk about themselves, their hopes and worries, their thoughts and dreams. They do what they can to keep themselves entertained - and we get entertained in the process.
Listening Party is a party on the stage, and the hosts are a group of teenagers, thirteen to seventeen- year-olds. They hang out, listen to music together, and listen to each other while we listen in. They support and, in a way, celebrate each other. It’s a tribute to the teenage years. The stage is theirs, the words are their own, and they have the power, even if it’s just during the show. It’s their party and they’ll do what they want to.
Ásrún Magnúsdóttir is an Islandic choreographer born at the end of the eighties, interested in people, who hasn’t thought particularly much about dance as such. She spotlights unseen choreography, the moves we are not used to seeing on stage. She often works with people in her home surroundings, her neighbors, with children and young people.
